Emily Fornell is the only child of Tobias Fornell and his ex-wife, Diane Sterling. Her mother was shot in the head and died in January 2015, when Emily was only 14 years old. Her father died when she was in her 20's.
Shortly after Tobias' death, Emily went to Quantico to become an FBI Agent.
