Eleanor Raye Torres (nee Bishop) is an NCIS Special Agent, the wife of Nick Torres and the mother of Lotta.
Ellie and her three older brothers grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. Although their mother was a wonderful woman, Eleanor was always her father's little girl, and that is still undeniable years after his death.
Even though she loved to learn new things, school turned out to be hell for Ellie. She was smart, authentic and wore hand-me-downs from her brothers. Her classmates apparently saw that as an invitation to bully her, labeling her as "Scarecrow". George, John and Robbie managed to keep her safe physically, but the emotional scars she carried away from her high school years haunted her for a long time.
After graduation, Ellie started working as an analyst for the NSA. She identified and evaluated potential threats in the Middle East. Through that job, she met her first husband, Jake Malloy.
In 2013, Bishop left the NSA and became an NCIS Agent, working for Gibbs and alongside Tony and McGee. Two years later, she found out that her husband was cheating on her. In early 2016, she signed the divorce papers.
Since Tony decided to retire after finding out about Tali, the team gained two new members in September 2016: Nick Torres and Alex Quinn. While the latter only stuck around for about a year, Nick became a permanent part of Ellie's life. However, at first, they were just friends. A few months after they met, it was revealed that Ellie had been dating Qasim Naasir for a while. Their relationship got so serious that he proposed to her. Due to her less than pleasant experiences with Jake, she wasn't sure what to say. She wanted to think it through before she gave him her answer - but before she got the chance, Qasim was murdered.
Needless to say, Eleanor was hesitant to begin another serious relationship, even when she realized that she was falling in love with Nick. They shared their first kiss during an undercover operation - as "Charlie" and "Luis" - in 2018, but they didn't officially get together until 2020.
